Dear Parent/Guardian:
On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, all 10th grade traditional students will have the opportunity to take the PSAT. Additionally, 11th grade traditional students can sign up and pay to take the PSAT. The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a standardized test administered by the College Board and co-sponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in the United States. Please note that if your son/daughter is a junior (11th grade) and wants to be a National Merit Scholar, then he/she MUST take the PSAT this year. For more information about the National Merit Scholar Program, please see your child’s counselor.
10th grade students will take the test free of charge; however, 11th grade students will need to pay a fee of $18. Students in the 11th grade will need to pay their fee on MySchoolBucks, https://bit.ly/SEHSPSAT. We are ONLY accepting online payments this year. Your 11th grade son/daughter will need to register for the test by September 13, 2023. There will be NO late registration.
There will be no make-up test date for the PSAT. If a student misses the testing date, there are no refunds.
Testing will begin promptly at 8:30 AM. We encourage your child to arrive at school by 8:15 AM well-rested and ready to test.
If you have questions regarding the PSAT, please contact me using the contact information below.
Sincerely,
Michelle Coburn, Assistant Principal/Testing Coordinator
